Biking in France is a lot of fun!

Bicycling in France with "la petite Reine" (*)

Follow the little roads through the vineyards of Burgundy, descent the mountain pastures of Savoie, amble along roads lined with gorse in the Morbihan… At a different pace, touring on bicycle and mountain biking add an air of freedom to your excursions.

You don't need to bike like a pro of the "Tour de France" to enjoy the French country side! A good map giving you the degree of up- or down- hill will be very useful. Take a road boarding a river, and follow the flow of the river: you'll be sure to have a relatively easy run. Or bike on the bank of a canal: these small "sentiers" were used in the "old days" for pulling the transport-barges by horses!

(*) "la petite Reine" = name given by the French to the bicycle.... the Queen of the Road!

B&B Biking in Bordeaux Wine Region is a new charmer for Discover France Biking
The Bordeaux region of France has long been known for its wine, but Discover France Biking has a charming new way to learn more about the wines and the region. The tour is a wine theme, but as a self-guided tour it allows persons of all abilities to discover the warmth of the small villages and their historic monuments while spending the nights at extraordinary B&B inns, some of which are old chateaux and others converted farm houses. The inn atmosphere is very warm and in the French Table d’Hote tradition, everyone eats together around large and lively tables. Many of the small inn owners are also viticulteurs and provide tasting and private instruction on their wines and other famous wines of the region. The tour is situated between the Dordogne and Garonne rivers in one of the undiscovered corners of this popular region.
